Violette Field Threads has done it again. It seem the designers are constantly upping their game and it challenges me to keep up. The testers in our group are all so creative and uplifting and I love the comradary we share. When I first saw this pattern I didn't know what they would call it and this styled shoot popped in my mind instantly. I knew I had to do it. I laughed so hard when I saw the name! It was destiny.

Meet Saylor! A fully lined vintage inspired swimsuit with halter or cross back and sweet side peplum or tab embellishments. Kate and I love the low rise legs and the comfy bodice. She says it's her most comfortable swimsuit and we received so many compliments on it at our 4th of July gathering. This girl has more swimsuits than any child should need but I feel compelled to make more! It's just so fun.
Saylor is available in sizes 2t-10 and is currently on sale along with the rest of the site. If you don't have a serger or have never worked with knit, don't be afraid! The pattern comes with a lot of pictures and great instructions for sewing with knit on a regular sewing machine. There are so many beautiful swim fabrics available online that will get your creative juices flowing.
We had a blast shooting down on the docks in the harbor and Kate was such a trooper. The breeze was a bit chilly at golden hour but she powered through and earned herself a toy. She loved the curls and red lipstick and really got into character as you can see below. Finding a sailor hat in a child's size is no easy task so I made one! It was a fun challenge and I'm so happy with how it came out. I had to get a fun summer picture of all the kids together since we were already going to all this effort and I'm glad the boys were mostly compliant. Scroll down to the end to see my sweet nautical babies.
